## Check the tool is safe to issue

1. **Issue, return and restow**

   Issue, return and restow.

   Open issue, return and restow from the menu.

2. **Choose your station**

   Choose your station.

   Choose the station you are using. Check that your own name is shown. Ask an owner if the station is missing.

3. **Scan GAUGE-001**

   Scan GAUGE-001.

   This example gauge has no accepted calibration record. Its identity label does not show that it is calibrated.

4. **Choose who is taking the tool**

   Choose who is taking the tool.

   Choose the person receiving the tool. This does not change who is signed in.

5. **Choose the approved task**

   Choose the approved task.

   Choose the job the tool will be used for. The check will tell you whether it is suitable and its checks stay valid until you finish.

6. **Stop when a required check is missing**

   Stop when a required check is missing.

   Do not issue a tool if a required check is missing or will expire before you finish. Ask a supervisor to review it.
