## Recognise a held tool

1. **Issue, return and restow**

   Issue, return and restow.

   Open issue, return and restow from the menu.

2. **Choose your station**

   Choose your station.

   Choose the station you are using. Check that your own name is shown. Ask an owner if the station is missing.

3. **Scan TOOL-002**

   Scan TOOL-002.

   This example tool came back damaged and is on hold. Scanning it will not remove the hold.

4. **Choose who is taking the tool**

   Choose who is taking the tool.

   Choose the person receiving the tool. This does not change who is signed in.

5. **Choose the approved task**

   Choose the approved task.

   Choose the job the tool will be used for. The check will tell you whether it is suitable and its checks stay valid until you finish.

6. **Read why the held tool is blocked**

   Read why the held tool is blocked.

   Read the reason and leave the tool on hold. Ask a supervisor to review it.
