# Return unused material against its issue

Retain the original issue and return the observed unused quantity into quarantine.

Use an authorised account and only supported physical facts. This recording uses an isolated synthetic stockroom with prepared approved materials, rules, opening stock and a selected station.

## Return unused material against its issue

1. **Choose the floor menu**

   Choose the floor menu.

   Use the shared Floor menu for physical stock tasks.

2. **Open Return unused material**

   Open Return unused material.

   This example starts with a prepared two-piece issue for HELP-RETURN. One piece is now physically returning.

3. **Choose original issue**

   Choose original issue.

   Select the original issue. A return cannot exceed its remaining unreturned quantity.

4. **Choose receiving location**

   Choose receiving location.

   Receive the returned piece into receiving for condition review.

5. **Enter actual quantity**

   Enter actual quantity.

   Enter only the piece that physically returned. The original demand is not reopened.

6. **Choose observed condition**

   Choose observed condition.

   Keep the return quarantined until an authorised condition review supports reuse.

7. **Check the exact movement**

   Check the exact movement.

   Check the current material, location, quantity and approved unit. This preparation has not posted stock.

8. **Confirm the physical facts**

   Confirm the physical facts.

   Confirm only the movement you physically checked. A scan or prepared suggestion does not establish that it happened.

9. **Record this movement**

   Record this movement.

   The recorded receipt is retained. If the result is uncertain, keep the original request and check it before attempting another movement.
