## Choose applicable device advice

1. **Open your scanner details**

   Open your scanner details.

Scanner, computer and keyboard details are optional. Record them when they help troubleshooting; they are supplied by you and stay local.

2. **Select a reviewed scanner model**

   Select a reviewed scanner model.

This model is supplied by you, never detected. All keyboard scanners may attempt capture; the initial advice catalogue covers two reviewed Zebra USB models.

3. **Choose the applicable USB keyboard connection**

Choose the applicable USB keyboard connection.

The reviewed manufacturer reference applies to this exact model and USB mode. ScannerBench does not change hardware settings. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions separately.

4. **Remove advice that does not apply**

Remove advice that does not apply.

Changing to Bluetooth removes the USB-specific reference. It must not present unsupported model advice as if it had been reviewed.

5. **Find an unlisted model**

   Find an unlisted model.

No reviewed entry is available for this search. Capture and exact comparison remain available without a catalogue match.

6. **Record the operating system**

   Record the operating system.

The device note describes the actual workstation. This prepared choice is synthetic and is not browser or hardware detection.

7. **Record the keyboard layout**

   Record the keyboard layout.

An incorrect keyboard layout can change characters. Record the layout before following the manufacturer’s programming instructions.
