## Clear local data and retest

1. **Clear the browser session**

   Clear the browser session.

   Clear removes captures, expectations, imported test context and device notes, and returns to the start screen. It does not delete downloaded files from the computer.

2. **Start capture in the focused box**

   Start capture in the focused box.

   Start capture explicitly. Only this box collects keyboard input. These keystrokes are simulated; the course does not measure a physical scanner.

3. **Scan a value with leading zeroes**

   Scan a value with leading zeroes.

   The six-character value remains text. Leading zeroes must survive unchanged; capture duration includes waiting and browser delivery.

4. **Inspect what arrived**

   Inspect what arrived.

   Step 2 shows exactly what arrived, in quotes, with hidden characters shown as codes. Leaving step 1 pauses capture.

5. **Compare with the known encoded value**

   Compare with the known encoded value.

   Use an independently known value. Copying a capture into the expectation would only prove that it matches itself. Exact match preserves every character.
