# Independently review and release a part

Review the actual observations and permissions before releasing a passing component.

## Independently review and release a part

1. **Open the component for review**

   Open the component for review.

   Review the power module checked by Sam. Sarah makes the physical release decision independently.

2. **Record the independent review**

   Record the independent review.

   Check the retained observations, supporting files, owner permission and intended use. Record the evidence for your decision.

3. **Confirm your independent check**

   Confirm your independent check.

   Confirm only after reviewing the actual evidence. A person who supplied material assessment evidence cannot release that component.

4. **Release the passing component**

   Release the passing component.

   The release applies to this checked identity and assessment. Later holds, expiry, correction or removal can make it unavailable again.
