Review and accept an incoming order

Check the prepared order, keep the source history decision and accept the manufacturing revision.

For supervisors

Sarah Hughes is signed in with only the Supervisor role. This is a fictional Hartwell & Pryce Engineering example. Approved rules, a prepared source file and an issued two-unit order are already present. Every answer comes from the real product using isolated test services.

Read these instructions on any device. Watch or practise a chapter on a desktop or laptop, with a desktop or mobile application layout. Demonstrations use sample data and simulated scanners.

Review and accept an incoming order

  1. Choose the office menu

    Choose the office menu.

Use your Supervisor role to review source history and accepted work.

  2. Open Orders and amendments

    Open Orders and amendments.

The fictional source file has already been scanned and prepared through OrderRun. Preparing a file does not accept its orders.

  3. Inspect the automatic decision

    Inspect the automatic decision.

Approved rules selected the destination and required checks. AI does not decide that work happened.

  4. Open the source history decision

    Open the source history decision.

A first order needs an authorised starting point. Arrival time alone cannot prove which revision is current.

  5. Keep the source owner’s authority

    Keep the source owner’s authority.

In this example the source owner confirmed the opening sequence. Keep that evidence with your decision.

  6. Confirm the reviewed starting point

    Confirm the reviewed starting point.

This confirms the source history only. Manufacturing acceptance remains a separate action.

  7. Accept the manufacturing revision

    Accept the manufacturing revision.

Accept the exact reviewed revision. This creates the outstanding units, but does not approve or issue a factory pack.

Watch or practise this chapter

Keep accepted orders, issued packs, reviewed reports and physical departure separate. A demonstration is not permission to release customer work. Ask a Supervisor about a hold or unclear result.
