Record use, a cut, condition and scrap

Keep a remeasured remainder, inspect old-label history, record whole use, and retain condition and scrap reasons.

For operators

Read these instructions on any device. Watch or practise a chapter on a desktop or laptop, with a desktop or mobile application layout. Demonstrations use sample data and simulated scanners.

Keep a remainder and read the old label

  1. Import a prepared rack

    Import a prepared rack.

This synthetic backup enters the ordinary strict restore path. It has aluminium and steel pieces, including damaged and unchecked ones.

  2. Ask for two blanks

    Ask for two blanks.

Each blank needs its own blade-width allowance.

  3. Set the finished length

    Set the finished length.

Use 600 mm for each blank.

  4. Read the cut allowances

    Read the cut allowances.

    Required length is N × (finished + extra) + N × blade width + trim + buffer. This rack uses 0, 3, 10 and 0 mm respectively.

  5. Run the search

    Run the search.

Two 600 mm blanks need 1216 mm with these reviewed defaults. A 1248 mm guaranteed piece leaves 32 mm spare. Damaged and unchecked pieces are excluded.

  6. Scan a piece label

    Scan a piece label.

A keyboard scanner or typed full OBP1 code looks up only this loaded rack. This is a synthetic value, not a live scanner check.

  7. Record a completed cut

    Record a completed cut.

Only record a cut after checking the physical piece. Search results alone do not authorise it.

  8. Remeasure the remainder

    Remeasure the remainder.

Enter a new measurement of 34 mm. Do not use a calculated leftover as a measurement. Its 32 mm guaranteed length is below the keep suggestion, but it may still be kept.

  9. Confirm the physical check

    Confirm the physical check.

In this lesson the piece is synthetic. In real work, this confirmation is your own recorded check.

  10. Keep a newly labelled remainder

    Keep a newly labelled remainder.

The parent becomes consumed, and the remainder gets a new identifier, measurement and label.

  11. Scan the consumed parent label

    Scan the consumed parent label.

The old barcode opens its history and points to the remainder. The consumed piece cannot be used again.

  12. Read the completed cut history

    Read the completed cut history.

The original measurement and recorded cut remain in the append-only local history.

Record whole-piece use

  1. Open another sound piece

    Open another sound piece.

This second piece is available and sound. Use whole records its complete consumption.

  2. Record whole-piece use

    Record whole-piece use.

An optional job reference can explain the use. It is not independent production evidence.

  3. Confirm the physical check

    Confirm the physical check.

In this lesson the piece is synthetic. In real work, this confirmation is your own recorded check.

  4. Confirm whole-piece consumption

    Confirm whole-piece consumption.

The old label now opens the used record, without offering another use.

Check condition and record scrap

  1. Open a damaged piece

    Open a damaged piece.

Damaged pieces are retained on the list but never recommended by a search. A checkbox in search cannot change their condition.

  2. Record a physical condition check

    Record a physical condition check.

A real condition change needs an explicit inspection and reason.

  3. Set the checked condition

    Set the checked condition.

The practice inspection changes damaged to sound. Real work must use the condition actually observed.

  4. Record the inspection reason

    Record the inspection reason.

The previous condition and this reason stay in history.

  5. Confirm the physical check

    Confirm the physical check.

In this lesson the piece is synthetic. In real work, this confirmation is your own recorded check.

  6. Save the condition check

    Save the condition check.

Download an updated label before returning a changed piece to the rack.

  7. Record a scrap decision

    Record a scrap decision.

Scrapping retains the old facts and removes this piece from the available list.

  8. Give the scrap reason

    Give the scrap reason.

Record why the physical piece was discarded.

  9. Confirm the physical check

    Confirm the physical check.

In this lesson the piece is synthetic. In real work, this confirmation is your own recorded check.

  10. Confirm scrap

    Confirm scrap.

The reason remains in the piece history.

  11. Download the changed rack backup

    Download the changed rack backup.

This genuine saved-project JSON includes consumed pieces, the new remainder, the condition change and scrap history.
