Set up one rack and review imports
Create a millimetre rack, adopt exact material and bin CSV rows, and refuse a conflicting file atomically.
For operators
Read these instructions on any device. Watch or practise a chapter on a desktop or laptop, with a desktop or mobile application layout. Demonstrations use sample data and simulated scanners.
Set up one rack and review imports
- Start a local rack
Start a local rack.
This free anonymous tool keeps one person’s straight lengths in this browser. The practice rack is synthetic.
- Give the rack a fixed code
Give the rack a fixed code.
Rack codes stay exact and cannot change once used.
- Name the practice rack
Name the practice rack.
Choose millimetres before creating this rack. The unit stays fixed. The usual 2 mm uncertainty becomes fixed after the first piece.
- Create the rack
Create the rack.
The usual 2 mm measuring uncertainty will be deducted from measured lengths.
- Open the CSV import
Open the CSV import.
Materials need all seven properties. Bins need an explicit family and a length limit.
- Review prepared material rows
Review prepared material rows.
The leading zeroes in 000017 stay exact. Read the preview before adding the whole file.
- Adopt the material
Adopt the material.
This adds one reviewed material; changing its identity later needs a new material code.
- Review prepared bins
Review prepared bins.
The bin belongs to R1, allows AL and holds measured lengths up to 6000 mm.
- Adopt the bin
Adopt the bin.
All rows are adopted together. A piece must fit both the family and measured-length limit.
- Review a conflicting file
Review a conflicting file.
This file contains one new material and the already-used 000017 code.
- See the whole import refused
See the whole import refused.
A duplicate identity refuses the entire file, including its first valid row. Existing work remains.
- Keep the accepted setup
Keep the accepted setup.
Cancel the refused preview. The accepted rack still has one material and one bin.
