Handle uncertain output from PrintStation

  1. See the uncertain output

    See the uncertain output.

PrintStation sent this reprint to Assembly labels, but the printer's answer was lost, so PrintStation reports the label's output as unknown. LabelRules shows PrintStation's outcome and never resends an uncertain label.

  2. Check PrintStation's record of the label

Check PrintStation's record of the label.

The label's attempt is PrintStation's own record: its job, the agent and printer that took the label, and the outcome. LabelRules records only what PrintStation reports.

  3. Reconcile in PrintStation

    Reconcile in PrintStation.

Reconciliation happens in PrintStation, not in LabelRules. Check the printer, then record what you found in PrintStation, which this link opens. PrintStation's Help shows how in its office lesson, Investigate and reconcile uncertain output.

  4. Open a run with PrintStation's result

Open a run with PrintStation's result.

When PrintStation records the result, LabelRules records it on the label. This run's first label was uncertain until a supervisor checked the printer and recorded in PrintStation that no label came out.

  5. Check the run history

    Check the run history.

The run history keeps both of PrintStation's records: the unknown outcome and the later result. If the label is still needed, a supervisor replaces it with an exact reprint.
