Audience: Operator

Generate three UUID v4 values, change their presentation and download the same batch as JSON. This is isolated practice with invented records. Nothing is uploaded or written into a live system.

## Generate and export a random UUID batch

1. **Choose three identifiers**

   Choose three identifiers.

Sarah needs three independent identifiers for records at Brighouse works. Quantity controls this batch only.

2. **Generate random UUIDs**

   Generate random UUIDs.

UUID v4 uses the browser’s cryptographic random source. A valid structure does not prove global uniqueness.

3. **Open formatting choices**

   Open formatting choices.

Formatting changes the representation of this batch, not the underlying UUID values.

4. **Use uppercase text**

   Use uppercase text.

Choose uppercase only when the receiving system expects it. This does not generate new identifiers.

5. **Choose a JSON array**

   Choose a JSON array.

A JSON array gives another program a list of quoted identifier strings. The batch stays the same.

6. **Download the identifier batch**

   Download the identifier batch.

Download creates a local file with the generated values. Keep that file only where you intend to share it.
