Review, approve and activate a release

Review a different author’s candidate, then deliberately activate it for new evaluations.

For reviewers

This lesson uses a fictional frame and a person with only the reviewer role. No result here is approved for real manufacture.

Read these instructions on any device. Watch or practise a chapter on a desktop or laptop, with a desktop or mobile application layout. Demonstrations use sample data and simulated scanners.

Review, approve and activate a release

  1. Review queue

    Review queue.

    Open review queue.

  2. Open the independent candidate

    Open the independent candidate.

Another person prepared this model and its expected cases. You did not contribute to this candidate.

  3. Inspect changes and independent expectations

    Inspect changes and independent expectations.

Compare the model changes, exact units, engineering scope and independently expected examples. Passing tests alone are not engineering approval.

  4. Confirm the engineering review

    Confirm the engineering review.

Confirm only after you have reviewed the complete engineering evidence. The fictional frame is not a qualified manufacturing design.

  5. Approve the candidate

    Approve the candidate.

Approval preserves this reviewed version. Activation for new evaluations is a separate action.

  6. Open the activation controls

    Open the activation controls.

Select a previously approved release deliberately. Existing accepted results do not change.

  7. Choose the approved release

    Choose the approved release.

Choose the release you have just approved, not an unreviewed draft.

  8. Prepare the activation comparison

    Prepare the activation comparison.

Check the baseline and historical comparisons before selecting a release for new work.

  9. Explain this activation

    Explain this activation.

Record why the approved release is being selected. This example remains evaluation-only.

  10. Confirm the selected release

    Confirm the selected release.

Confirm that this is the version you intend to use for new evaluations.

  11. Activate for new evaluations

    Activate for new evaluations.

Activate the reviewed version. This still does not qualify the family for manufacture.

Check the current record and your own authority before working with real data. An evaluation result never authorises manufacture.
