Save an investigation and review a case

Keep the investigation, source gaps and local review together.

For supervisors

Practise with fictional workshop records. For real work, use only sources you are allowed to read.

Read these instructions on any device. Watch or practise a chapter on a desktop or laptop, with a desktop or mobile application layout. Demonstrations use sample data and simulated scanners.

Save an investigation and review a case

  1. Start an investigation

    Start an investigation.

Choose the source records you are allowed to use, then identify the lot or unit exactly.

  2. Choose the workshop records

    Choose the workshop records.

Select Synthetic workshop. Your product role alone does not give you access to every dataset.

  3. Select the scan box

    Select the scan box.

Select the scan box before using the scanner. Keep the source and identity type you have checked.

  4. Scan MAT-0001

    Scan MAT-0001.

Scan the lot code, keeping its leading zeroes. The chosen source, type and namespace are part of its identity.

  5. Save this investigation

    Save this investigation.

Save the search once and wait for confirmation. This searches the available records; it does not change factory stock or place a hold.

  6. Open saved investigations

    Open saved investigations.

Open the saved result. Your current access is checked again each time you open it.

  7. Read the saved result

    Read the saved result.

Read the coverage notice before using the result. The newest investigation is listed first.

  8. Read the coverage limits

    Read the coverage limits.

Read every missing-information notice. A partial result or an empty list does not prove that a unit is unaffected.

  9. Understand the grouped operation

    Understand the grouped operation.

These four units share a recorded operation. This does not show how much of the material went into each unit.

  10. Investigation cases

    Investigation cases.

    Open investigation cases.

  11. Name the follow-up case

    Name the follow-up case.

Give the local investigation a clear title.

  12. Explain why review is needed

    Explain why review is needed.

Keep the reason factual. Request missing source evidence instead of treating an incomplete result as proof of safety.

  13. Open the investigation case

    Open the investigation case.

This adds the selected saved investigation to a local case. Assigning a reviewer does not grant that person dataset access.

  14. Open the new case

    Open the new case.

Read the retained investigation and its coverage before writing a conclusion.

  15. Mark the case in review

    Mark the case in review.

This is the local investigation status. It does not change production holds or stock.

  16. Explain the review change

    Explain the review change.

Record what has been checked and what still needs evidence.

  17. Record the case review

    Record the case review.

Save once and wait for confirmation. Earlier saved investigations keep their original result and access boundary.
